| Located in the northeast of the Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, Guilin covers an area of 27,700 square kilometers. Guilin has a population of 4.88 million, and is home to more than 10 ethnic groups, such as Han, Zhuang, Miao, Yao, Hui and Dong. |
 Guilin is a world-famous scenic city. It boasts unrivalled karst landforms, green mountains, exquisite waters, weird caves and beautiful rocks. Since ancient times, Guilin enjoys the reputation of having the country's most beautiful scenery. Guilin has a pleasant climate, with less snow in winter and flowers all the year round. The best travel season is from April to October. The Lijiang River, the mother river of the people in Guilin, belongs to the Pearl River system, and is one of the inland rivers with the best water in China, as well as the representative of the landscapes in Guilin. |

| Lijiang River |
 Originated from Maoer Mountain in Xing'an County, the Lijiang River runs through Guilin City, Yangshuo County and Wuzhu City and empties into the West River. A boat excursion down the Lijiang River to Yangshuo is like sailing down an indulating jade belt encircled by green mountains. The famous tourist attractions include Jingping Mountain, Wangfu (looking forward to husband) Mountain, banbiandu, Guanyan, and so on. |
| Elephant Trunk Hill |
 Located at the junction of the Lijiang and taohua Rivers, the Elephant Trunk Hill was formed by pure limestone deposited at the bottom of the sea 360 million years ago. The hill looks like an elephant drinking from the river with its trunk, hence the name. Between the elephant trunk and body, there is a round cave, forming a beautiful sight of the moon in the water. Elephant Trunk Hill is the representative of the beautiful landscape in Guilin. |
| Reed Flute Cave |
 On the southern side if Guangming Mountain in the northwestern suburbs of Guilin, Reed Flute Cave is a spectacular karst cavern, 240 meters deep. Lines along its500-meter-long zigzag road are stalactites and stalagmites of the most striking colors, in the shape of bamboo shoots, pillars, curtains and flowers. There are more than 30 scenic sights in the karst cavern, such as Crystal Palace Facing the Sun and Primitive Forests . |
